We extended XFOIL with new scientific insight and improved the turbulent closure relations. With this, the prediction of the maximum lift coefficient of airfoils/hydrofoils is improved significantly. We implemented this improvements both to XFOIL 6.99 and to XFOILSUC from TU Delft, which features the improved van Ingen eN method for transition prediction. This improves the prediction of the transition location significantly compared to standard XFOIL and in further consequence the prediction of airfoil drag.
