Our topology optimization software CMTop is capable of generating robust compliant mechanisms for motion and deformation control. It features a nonlinear finite element solver, the latest filter and projection methods and stress constraints. Furthermore, manufacturing uncertainties can be considered during optimization.
In the project MILAN, the software has been used to generate compliant mechanism stacks for the precise deformation of a morphing wing leading edge. But many other applications are conceivable – like MEMS, robots, packaging and medical devices.
