For refrigerated light commercial vehicles, lightweight design becomes increasingly important. This is mainly due to the heavy battery, reducing the available payload. In the collaborative research project VINCENT, we develop an innovative solution for a lightweight refrigerated box body together with PBX GmbH, Design Composite GmbH iLog GmbH and Fischerleitner Fahrzeugbau GmbH. Extensive mass bilancing, innovative joining technology solutions and an extremely light cooling unit lead to a best-in-class design. Achleitner Aerospace introduced new lightweight design concepts, performed the CAD design and developed a Python based mass bilancing software with an interface to Solidworks.
