The Mü31 is a sailplane design of the Akaflieg München e.V. with an unconventional shoulder wing arrangement for decreased wing-fuselage interference drag. Johannes was project manager from 2007 to 2011. Under his leadership, the aircraft’s structural test components and airframe were designed and manufactured. Johannes carried out the design and structural calculations of the wing. The structural tests of the fuselage and wing were carried out successfully. As the culmination of the project, Johannes was allowed to carry out the aircraft’s maiden flight.
